More exciting news – the BBC have chosen 5/6EBs ‘Night on Bare Mountain’ drama/dance production as part of their backdrop film for the Ten Pieces project to be shown later this year at the Royal Albert Hall in London!

On Tuesday a team of camera crew came in to school to re- film our production and interview some of the children about their performance!

The Hoppings

Hi everyone, I haven’t done a blog post in a while so I thought I would do another one, and do it on the Hoppings because every one loves the Hoppings, am I right. I went to the Hoppings on farthers day (my dad came up with the idea) and we had a fantastic time. my favourite ride is stick wall where its spinning so fast that you stick to the wall. I accidentally turned upside down and when the ride slowed down I fell into a handstand which was pretty cool. Then I went on a ride called EXTREME! with my sister Abigail, this ride went upside down any way if you or if you have been to the Hoppings this year tell me which ride you like best!

Y6 work with Ouseburn Textile artist Fiona Gray

As part of the ‘Under the Fields of Heaton’ project, Year 6 worked with textile artist Fiona Gray  to create two large scale banners – one commemorating the bi-centenary of the local Heaton Mining Disaster, and the other celebrating life at Benton Park Primary.

Tah dah…take a look at the finished articles that are now hanging in pride of place in our Key Stage 2 Hall…I am sure that you will agree that they look fantastic!

P.E!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, so what I wanted to talk to you about is that if your like me you probably don’t like P.E to much but recently I’ve been trying quite hard at it but I still might be the worst in the class but at least I’m not giving up like other people. I started trying harder when my P.E teacher started saying  about when we go to secondary it will be much hard no matter what, my teacher and my friends started saying it’s alright not being the fastest or the greatest at running. The thing that I do keep saying to my self is that never give up on any sport. So that’s the low down on how I keep  trying to succeed in P.E !
